Christiaankondre and Langamankondre are two traditional Indian villages situated at the mouth of the MarowijneRiver. Christiaan and Langamankondre originated after the slavery. The traditional culture is very important to the villagers. Great events such as traditional song and dance nights are being organized.
The agriculture exists of cassave and small ananas plantations. The traditional pottery and interweave is still an important source of income. Christiaan kondre and langamankondre are in the 'Galibi' area, which is known for its giant turtle.
